I only have 2 Revoltech mecha in my possession, and Black Ox is one of them.
My Revoltech journey is a bit weird. Most of my Revoltech are the Doko Demo Issyo and Yotsuba line-up, but the first thing that attracts me to Revoltech is Black Ox…kinda unrelated huh? But that’s how it is.
My mind works with a pretty simple logic when it comes to toys. If it is simple and looks mean, I probably gonna like it 😀 (doesn’t apply to model kit, because sometimes complexity means more challenge)
For an old-school Revoltech, Black Ox comes with very little number of accessories. There are four changeable hands, 2 inner frame (for a damage effect), and a Tetsujin head (so people would feel obliged to get Revoltech Tetsujin after they bought Black Ox :D)
It’s really hard to make him stand alone without the base. His proportion makes him very unbalance.
And I find it pretty hard to capture a nice pose for Black Ox…maybe next time I should use someone to interact with him (perhaps Drossel??) haha, we’ll see about that.
A bit information regarding my activity, in the last couple of days I’ve finished my Tank, and gather some material for another Tutorial, most likely it’s gonna be about airbrushing. Hopefully I could post it all really soon 😀 And I have this really important exam coming in this month, an exam that is gonna reflect my 3.5 years study in college. I keep blogging to let off all the steam in my brain LoL. Well, wish me luck my dear comrades 😀

Truly a classic design. You’ll him very articulate and can recreate the scenes from the anime accurately (the hallmark of Revoltechs :D). Then again, I already have three Revoltech mechas and a girl. 😀
He’s very good in doing all sort of bad ass looking poses.
@rocklee: He is the opposite of Tetsujin28 (the hero) in the series.
Yeah I also have Tetsujin28, I just love their classic design. About the poses, you are absolutely right, black ox could pull a lot of nice poses, but that is with the help of Revoltech stand 😀
The stand IS a must. Then again, so does any other figures or gunplas. XD

Lazyness I guess LoL I take a lot of time trying to pose him without the revoltech base, and failed most of the time. It is kinda frustrating 😀
And I wanna make a photos that shows Black Ox as strong and evil robot, I think the alternate arm and leg doesn’t really support this feeling.

You reminded me that there is a box of Testujin and Black Ox in my “mecha hangar”… To be honest it is not easy to pose a Revoltech figure without the stand (that’s why I love the transparent stand so much).
I wonder why Kaiyodo doesn’t go transparent with Revoltech stand…If it’s only about uniqueness then I’ll say that the shape is already unique..
