Unboxing Your Figures

I was doing a random photoshoot with Danbo, and turns out I’m only satisfied with one result πŸ˜€

prison break!

looking at this picture, I was wondering, how do you unbox your figures? do you open it from top or below? It’s not important, but I’m just curious here πŸ˜€

I usually open it from below, I work automatically that way LoL

And I put most of my figures back in the box after a photoshoot. Because they are just to valuable to be covered in dust

For figures I’ll open them up by the top πŸ˜€ I put my nendos on the shelve for easy access as I shoot them often ^^ Occasionally i’ll let clean then up with a wet tissue to clear the dust!

do you know that there is this Static Brush from Tamiya that which is specialized itself for cleaning dust? the price was illogical for a brush, but I heard it can get rid of dust very easy..

I normally opened them from the top as the seals there are lesser. I wash my Fraulein and nendo after a weeks or so with warm soapy water. This means dismantling them apart then let it them dry in an open air room.

Aww… The Danbos are helping each other getting out of the box.

    • h4mster says:

is soap water safe for those figures? dismantling? then the more collection you have would mean more pain on cleaning it πŸ˜€

haha, the Danbo are family. Family always stick together (even when if you have to break them out of jail LoL)

      • bd77 says:

Perfectly safe, I just use a gentle dishwasher for them. πŸ™‚

And I dismantle them so can clean out the hidden areas, besides, I enjoy putting them back together again. =D

I always open my boxes by the top because i had a bad experience of a bottom opened box…. by lifting it up, it’s inside went through (it wasn’t a figure but a cups set)
All my figures are out of their boxes and i clean them from dusts regularly. But it takes a looooooot of time. LooooL
    Nice photos really!!

      Thanks πŸ˜€
Cups are indeed far more fragile..Well, I usually doing it close to the ground (usually I sit on the floor) so if bad things happen, I hope it doesn’t really put a great deal of damage to my figures πŸ˜€

lol nice shot, very cute teamwork and hilarious caption XD

i open my figure boxes from the top, used to normal procedures lol my figures get attacked by dust non stop T_T but i love having them on display.

    • h4mster says:

We should get a display case man…the one like in chubbybots room, that’ll make the nendos feel much appreciated LoL
I’m still searching for a store that could make those display case based on our order (and cheap too :D), so I could get one with a desired size.

well I don’t really care with “how to open” so open from above or bottom doesn’t matter for me but I try not destroy the boxes since I won’t throw the boxes away
but for gundam always on top LOL

  6. heathorn says:

I am not very sure, but I think I usually do it from the top.
Will put them on display for some time (usually I display my new figures), then put the new figures into the boxes, unbox my old figures, display old figures, so on…. πŸ˜€

But currently there is no figures on my desk. Drossel n nendorosol n rei are already in their boxes.

I open all my figures from top. To be honest I really feel like throwing the box away but that means I have to leave my figure collect dust else where. Not to mention the accessories that come with the figure =___=

Congrats on your danboards army =D Any outdoor photo shoot plan?

    • h4mster says:

Right, those accessories need to be put somewhere. Tiny parts like that are easy to be lost if we don’t put it back in where it belongs to πŸ˜€

I have done an outdoor photo shoot in the PhotoQuest section πŸ˜€

It’s kinda automatic for me to open the bottom of the box too. Lol. I use a box cutter to cut the tape from below. I display most of my figures, I regularly clean them every week with Swiffer cloths or any electrostatic charged (or something) cleaning wipes. Lol.

    Wow 3 Danbos! ^^
